CMT's Next Superstar is a music competition series specializing in country music. It is launched by American Country Music Television specialty station CMT in partnership with producer Nigel Lythgoe and his son, Simon Lythgoe. Nigel Lythgoe already produces the series American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. The 10-episode series premiered in April 2011 on CMT. Each episode will be one hour-long episode. Contestants, mainly undiscovered singer-songwriters in the country genre will compete while living together in Nashville, Tennessee. Celebrity guests will guide them each week. Each week, one finalist will be eliminated and viewers will have the final vote to determine who will win the title. An album of songs by participants is due mid-to-late summer 2011. Also best competitors will take part in the CMT Summer Tour. On June 10, 2011, Matt Mason was crowned the first winner of the show and will go on tour that summer.
Working Class is an American television sitcom created by Jill Cargerman, which premiered on CMT on January 28, 2011. The network ordered twelve episodes for the comedy, which is the first scripted series for the network. On April 11, 2011, CMT cancelled Working Class after only one season due to low ratings.
Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling was an American reality television program, which ran for eight episodes on CMT in 2008. The first episode aired on October 18, 2008. In Australia, the show premiered in July 2009 on the FOX8 channel. It was also shown in the UK on Bravo and Viva. The show was co-produced by Hulk Hogan and Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment. The show featured celebrities being trained to become professional wrestlers. The finale aired on December 6, 2008, where Dennis Rodman was declared the winner of the competition.
Outsiders Inn is an American half hour reality television show which is a spin-off from Gone Country, but created through the process known as retroscripting. The series debuted on CMT August 15, 2008, where it ran for eight weeks. The series is Executive Produced by Jay Renfroe and David Garfinkle of Renegade 83 Productions and Sandy Chanley of Productions Partners Inc.
Can You Duet is an American reality-competition show airing on CMT. The show is produced by FremantleMedia, the same company that produced American Idol. The show premiered on April 14, 2008 and the first season ended on June 13, 2008. Sixwire, runners up from Fox's Next Great American Band, performed as the house band for Can You Duet with Steve Mandile serving as the show's musical director. Two additional musicians, Steve Hornbeak on keyboards and Andrea Young on violin, performed with Sixwire during the show. The show has been cancelled and will not return for a third season.
John Rich of Big & Rich will give one of seven celebrities a chance at a country music career. The celebrities move into a Nashville mansion together to embark on a two-week adventure. Each celebrity will be paired up with some of Nashville's finest songwriters in an attempt to prepare them for a career in country music. In each episode, the cast competes against each other in challenges that will test them musically and physically to adapt to a country music lifestyle, both on and off the stage. At the end of the two weeks, the artist who is most prepared to impress a country audience, as determined by Rich, will record and release a song.

Each episode of CMT Cross Country features a different set of stars playing together. Top 20 Countdown is a show on CMT. The show counts down the biggest videos in country music and was originally hosted by Lance Smith. Top Twenty Countdown airs every Friday at 11:00 a.m. and reruns on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Besides showing the biggest videos, Lance also shows the world premiere of music videos. The show celebrated its 300th episode with the top 20 videos of 2006, based on the weekly countdown. They also recapped the top 20 videos from 2001-2005. The show has had celebrity guests such as Blake Shelton and Brooks & Dunn. The show originally aired each Friday at 10 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m., Sunday at 10 p.m. and Monday at 6 p.m. The first episode was the top 20 videos of 2001. It was announced in November 2009 that Lance Smith would be leaving the show in December 2009. Evan Farmer took over as the show's new host on January 22, 2010. He left the show in November 2012. The show ended at the end of 2012, December 28, 2012 being its last episode. An all new countdown started up again on January 5, 2013. The new show is titled "CMT Hot 20 Countdown".
