Britney: For the Record is a 2008 documentary television film of American recording artist and entertainer Britney Spears, following her return to the recording industry after her much-publicized personal struggles the year prior. It received mixed reviews from critics, but was broadcast to high ratings and positive fan reactions.

Legally Blonde — The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods is an MTV program created in order to cast an actress to replace Laura Bell Bundy in the role of Elle Woods in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde – The Musical. The show debuted on June 2, 2008. The winner of the show, Bailey Hanks, in addition to being cast in the role, was given the opportunity to record her own single of the musical's first-act closer, "So Much Better". The show concluded on July 21, 2008. Autumn Hurlbert was the runner up. She served as Hanks' understudy and performed in the ensemble of the show. Bundy's last performance in the musical was on July 20, 2008. Hanks began performances on July 23, 2008 and remained with the show until it closed on October 19, 2008. Two other show finalists — Rhiannon Hansen and Lauren Zakrin, performed in the Legally Blonde National tour. Hansen played Margot in the musical and Zakrin performed in the ensemble as well serving as understudy to Becky Gulsvig as Elle Woods. The show began with 15 contestants. All except the winner were eliminated over nine episodes, in which they performed songs and faced other challenges. A three-judge panel made the elimination decisions. Most episodes involved a small prize for the winner of the challenge.

The series follows the day-to-day life of professional skateboarder Ryan Sheckler as he mangages his personal life and his career. Most episodes take place at Sheckler's home in San Clemente, California. His friends, along with fellow professional skateboarders make various appearances in the series.
Aly & AJ: Sister Act is an MTV television special featuring behind the scenes look of the lives of musicians/actresses Aly Michalka and her younger sister by two years, AJ Michalka, better known as Aly & AJ. The special premiered on August 18, 2007, as part of a My Super Sweet 16 marathon named "Aly & AJ's Super Sweet Playlist" hosted by the sisters, in which the sisters commented on their favorite episodes of the series. It premiered with little advance publicity, but did have a segment of the Michalkas introducing the special, as well showcasing the MTV original television film Super Sweet 16: The Movie, which the Michalkas starred in. The special showcased what goes on in the lives of the two sisters, such as getting their drivers license, first car, and writing the songs from their third album, Insomniatic. The special was produced as a pilot for an intended series, but did not continue due to the Michalka's busy schedule at the time.
Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County, often referred to simply as Newport Harbor, is an MTV reality television series, documenting the lives of several teenagers living in Newport Harbor, an affluent seaside community located in Orange County, California, United States. It differs from the usual reality show in that it is structured as a traditional narrative than a straightforward observant documentary style. The series premiered on August 13, 2007 and concluded on January 2, 2008. The series was created as a successor to Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County to avoid cancelling the series for lack of a fourth season plotline. However, Newport Harbor proved to be unsuccessful and was cancelled after two seasons.
Room 401 was a hidden camera/reality television series on MTV, executive produced by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg. It was named after the room Harry Houdini died in at Detroit's Grace Hospital in 1926. The show also used some of his famous acts. Room 401 took unaware victims into the center of pranks that played like mini horror movies. From the reanimation of the dead, to chain-saw mishaps, each episode contains four "scares" or pranks. The show was hosted by Jared Padalecki from the CW's Supernatural.
