A washed up horror film director named Kôji Kuroishi (played by Kôji Shiraishi) and his assistant director named Miho Ichikawa visit a house deep in wooded mountains to film a movie. Once arrived, they meet a mentally deranged woman named Maria Miyoshi who proclaims she's a fan of Kuroishi's works. The woman pleads that she's experienced the same things as documented in Kuroishi's works. Unexplainable phenomena quickly begin to happen, so Kuroishi sets out to document these experiences and turn them into a film, together with the help of a 'super volunteer' named Shôhei Uno and a handsome psychic medium named Nanashi.

The Wall of the Eye

In 1990, Hagizaki Tatsuo, the accounting department chief of Ukishima Electric Works, was busy negotiating on getting a loan together with Sekino, the company's general manager. However, just as they were about to get the funds, Sekino was involved in a 200 million yen fraud and he later disappeared with the loan. The company decides to cover up the incident to protect its image, but Hagizaki wants to get to the bottom of the matter with the help of his newspaper reporter friend, Muraki. Hagizaki later notices that the case becomes darker and darker as he continues to investigate. He then meets a beautiful woman, Uezaki Etsuko, whom he believes hold the key to the entire incident.

No matter how much effort he puts in, she is the one with the discerning eye. To get away from the bustle of Tokyo, a pregnant Naho stays in Kyoto for an extended period. But despite the arrangements made by her mother Katsuko, living in an unfamiliar place makes her feel like a foreigner. One day, Naho comes across a painting of new green leaves by an obscure artist called Shirane Tatsuru when she stops by Minoyama Shungo’s art gallery and finds herself strongly attracted to it.

Agawa Kayo is an upright young woman who earns a living by working part-time at a convenience store. After going through a workshop, Kayo who has just become a volunteer probation officer is put in charge of her first case, Saito Midori. The owner of an accessory shop, Midori behaved violently towards an employee and has been released on parole after serving a two-year sentence for extortion and assault. Under the guidance of probation officer Takamatsu Naoharu, Kayo struggles to help her find her place in society.
