The maple sugar season is more than just a few weeks in springtime. Since the 19th century, in Quebeckers’ heart, it has been the time of the year during which family and friends come to together, to celebrate and enjoy a good meal.
Who hasn’t ever passed a scrapyard and wanted to have a peek at what sort of things actually go on behind those imposing walls? The series gives us a glimpse of the unique day-to-day of a car recycling centre, the Dumoulong garage in Joliette, and the scrapyard, Acier et Métaux Doucet in Granby.
Shipwreck hunter Samuel Côté takes us to the depths of the St-Lawrence river, in search of buried and long-forgotten treasures. With his team of divers, Samuel tracks down shipwrecks that lie in the river’s abyss, seeking to bring their mysteries to light. The series immerses the viewer into Quebec’s maritime history, through tales of war, pirates, treasures and archeology. The venture is a risky one, but Samuel’s discoveries are fascinating and allow him to accomplish his mission, which is to restore the river’s history.
