1900-1600 BCE
These legs are a fragment of an anthropomorphic, handmade terracotta figurine. A vertical groove present on both front and back delineates the legs. The legs terminate in feet, suggested by widening to indicate (schematically) the balls of feet; the feet point down and forward. Clay fabric: Munsell 10YR 8/3 very pale brown. Uncommon small black specks; rare larger white grits. Common fine to small voids.
H. 2.8 × W. 1.5 × D. 1 cm (1 1/8 × 9/16 × 3/8 in.)
Louise M. and George E. Bates, Camden, ME (by 1971-1992), gift; to the Harvard University Art Museums, 1992.
