Description

Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and no visible ground layer. Dark red paint is applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave overall, with matte and glossy passages. An area of raw canvas is visible through a dry brush passage. The fragment has a turn edge that's oriented diagonally iwith respect to the canvas weave.
