Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and one turn edge (appears to have been stretched). The canvas does not appear to have a priming layer. Crimson paint is applied up to the turn edge and a glossier paint or medium is applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave. Fibers are stuck in the glossier passage.
